Jon Bernstein
CEO & Chairman

Jon Bernstein serves as Cadec Global's CEO and Chairman of the Board, representing BlackBern Partners, Cadec's principal investor. Prior to founding BlackBern, Bernstein was the second member of the Pershing Square Capital Management investment team and has also worked for First Manhattan Consulting Group and Founders Equity. He is currently the Vice Chairman of Corfin Industries LLC, Director of EOL Electronics LLC, Chairman of Minds Matter Inc., a member of the Columbia Business School Social Enterprise Program Alumni Circle, and a Director of NASDAQ-listed ARC Wireless Solutions Inc. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA with Honors from Columbia Business School.


Ian Black
Director

Prior to co-founding BlackBern Partners with Bernstein, Black worked in investing, finance, and strategic planning for UBS, The New York Times, and a Greycroft-backed media venture. He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia Business School with Honors, and received his CFA charter in 2003.


Gary Krow
Director

A 17-year veteran of Comdata, Gary Krow has deep transportation industry experience. He spent more than seven years as president of Comdata, where he transitioned the company from a diesel fuel-card processor to a global supplier of payment and business services. Krow also led the company to double-digit revenue growth for 13 straight quarters while pretax income grew to more than $150M annually. Previously, he served as Director and CEO of GiftCertificates.com, Consultant for Light Year Capital, and Executive Vice President of Ceridian Corporation. Krow has been a Director of The Howard Hughes Corporation since 2010 (NYSE: HHC), and also served as Director for the National Association of Travel Centers Foundation, TIMM Communications, Inc., and the American Heart Association.


Tom Bassett
Senior Vice President, Finance & Operations

Tom Bassett has spent the last 28 years working in finance, accounting and HR roles for a variety of New Hampshire manufacturing companies.   Prior to Cadec, Mr. Bassett was the Chief Financial Officer at Laurier, Inc. in Londonderry, NH for 20 years.  While at Laurier, he was responsible for finance, HR and IT.  Tom holds a Master’s degree in finance and accounting from SNHU, and a Bachelor’s degree from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in economics and finance.  Tom is currently a Certified Management Accountant candidate, a NH Justice of the Peace and served as a Site Judge for the “Best Companies to Work For in NH” competition in partnership with Business New Hampshire Magazine.


Owen Smith
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Owen brings 25 years of senior sales management and enterprise software experience to Cadec. As SVP Customer Operations he is responsible for the entire customer lifecycle. He was previously with Infor Global Solutions (formerly Geac) for 10 years in a series of increasingly senior sales management roles, most recently as Vice President, Sales and Business Development for the AMSI division. In that role, he helped transform the division into a strong company contributor of increased revenue and profitability. He also re-organized and expanded the direct sales team and channel organization. Prior to Infor, Smith spent 15 years with or as a reseller of Remanco Systems (acquired by Geac), a point-of sale and enterprise software provider to the hospitality industry. At Remanco, Smith served as Vice President, Sales prior to forming his own successful sales and service business as Remanco's authorized reseller in the New York metropolitan area. Smith attended Montclair State University.

Douglas Frank
Vice President, Professional Services & Business Development
Doug is a seasoned applications software executive with 20 years' experience in business-to-business, enterprise software solutions. As Vice President, Professional Services & Business Development for Cadec, he is responsible for forming strong partnerships with companies that allow our customers to maximize the value of combining of Cadec's fleet management systems with their entire supply chain infrastructure, while ensuring Cadec client success through efficient and effective implementation and support services. He previously led sales and business development for Cadec partner Maptuit, a leading provider of navigation and logistics software solutions for the transportation industry. Doug was also part of the sales management team that helped launch MapQuest in the late 90's, and served as Vice President, Sales for TNT Vacations. Doug is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

 
Jon Principe
Vice President of Software Engineering
Jon is an experienced software engineer with a proven track record of designing, developing and delivery quality software applications. Jon joined Cadec in 2007 as a Principal Software Engineer focusing on the the PowerVue Web Application. In 2009 he was promoted to Systems Architect where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the PowerVue application from the mobile application to the backend services, web application and database. Prior to joining Cadec, Jon was a Principal Software Engineer at Symantec Corp where he was on the Consumer Products team working on the initial release of Symantec's Norton 360 product. Jon has provided software consulting services in a number of different fields focusing on mobile solutions and web application. Jon graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Computer Science.

Daniel Principe
Vice President of Hardware Engineering
Dan joined Cadec in 1985 as a principal hardware engineer. Dan subsequently served as Director of Engineering and VP of Engineering, prior to his current position. He has led the hardware design efforts on all hardware platforms that have been offered by Cadec, including the 300, 3000, 4000, Mobius 32, 96, MiniMo and now the 100 series. Prior to Cadec, Dan was a principal hardware engineer for Centronics, and before that a senior engineer for Digital Equipment Corporation. Additionally, he has provided consulting services for several technology companies in the medical and environmental fields. He holds a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He has completed numerous professional courses including Product Development, and Project management. He holds a patent, which was used on the Cadec 4000 series. In addition, Dan is a long time member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers.
