Wireless Communications
To remain competitive in today's business world, transportation companies are deploying wireless communication to get and receive critical information from their mobile work force. Cadec understands that the communication needs of an organization differ greatly, depending on how they will be using this information.
Cadec solutions are designed to take advantage of a wide variety of wireless communication methods and carriers; providing a responsive adaptability to ever-changing wireless networks. You can be assured that both your business and your driver are in sync with accurate information at all times; information that will assist you in growing a profitable business.
Cadec Global, Inc. is an Authorized Optimum Reseller for Multi-Tech Systems. The Multi-Tech cellular modems are the preferred certified modems for Cadec. Cadec works closely with Multi-Tech to create a specific Cadec SKU to insure that these modems are certified on both the Cadec software and hardware platforms, which includes the development and maintenance of specific firmware that is only made available to Cadec for PowerVue customers.
Communication Methods
Using a variety of wireless communication options, Cadec Series 100 and Series 200 systems can transfer data between the vehicle and back office. Voice communications are also available with certain service providers. Communication methods can be mixed within a fleet, based on the geographic operating area of a particular vehicle and the available company infrastructure.
Communication methods can even be selected at the vehicle level, providing the added flexibility to use multiple methods within a single fleet. The end result is that the company gets to select the best wireless option for their needs based on price, performance and coverage area.
WLAN (wireless local area network)

WWAN (wireless wide-area network)
CDMA - Verizon, Sprint, Aeris, Bell Mobility

Should a new wireless network appear in the future that offers a significant cost savings, the Cadec system will adapt to it by simply selecting the proper modem.
